Terms of Use

When using the server housing services and operating equipment, the user must ensure that the following terms of use are complied with by them and their colleagues (applicant administrator and deputies; hereinafter referred to as "representatives"):

  1. The user is strictly prohibited from making permanent or structural changes to any part of the site or the server room, in particular from lifting the floor cover or drilling holes in it or carrying out work on the cable ducts in the server room.
  2. The user shall keep the server housing space allocated to them clean and immediately remove rubbish, packaging material and such user equipment from the server rooms that is not used in the server room. Temporary storage of equipment is only permitted after prior consultation. Cables must be properly laid within the racks. Special cabling is only permitted after prior consultation with the KIM.
  3. All user equipment must be installed, operated and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications in the documentation supplied.
  4. When installing and operating the user equipment, the user shall comply with the limits specified in current on-site instructions with regard to weight, size, power consumption, heat emissions, noise development and other characteristics of the user equipment.The operation of wireless communication or transmission devices (wireless LAN or similar) as well as the operation of any other device that emits electromagnetic or other radiation that may interfere with the proper functioning of the IT or telecommunications equipment in the server room is prohibited.
  5. The user may only carry out administrative work on his equipment in the areas expressly allocated to him for administrative work.
  6. The user is strictly prohibited from setting up, storing or operating user equipment outside the assigned storage space.
  7. The user may not bring toxic, flammable, explosive or otherwise dangerous materials, such as batteries or cleaning agents, weapons of any kind, liquids, camera/video equipment or tobacco and similar products into the server room.
  8. The user shall not operate its own generators or power supply equipment in the server rooms.
  9. The user shall not install or replace any locking devices; shall not otherwise block access by KIM staff to any part of the server room.
  10. The user is subject to the guidelines of the KIM, the further documents of the to the house rules including their revisions as well as all reasonable instructions of the representatives of the KIM.
