KIM recommends that you use Thunderbird as your email client.
IMAP ensures that you can access your email account and manage your emails via any client (Thunderbird, Outlook, etc.). The following information is required to configure your client:
- Incoming mail server: imap.uni-konstanz.de
- Protocol: IMAP
- Port: 143
- Encryption: SSL/STARTTLS
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.uni-konstanz.de
- Port: 587
- Encryption: TLS/STARTTLS
- Sender: firstname.lastname@uni-konstanz.de
- Authentication before sending: Yes
- User name (IMAP): firstname.lastname
- Password: Your password
