Hybrid events and courses are held with participants on-site, and offer the option of online participation at the same time. This allows you to combine the benefits of face-to-face interaction in a personal setting with the flexibility of online meetings.
In order to carry out hybrid events, fixed infrastructure in certain lecture halls and seminar rooms, as well as additional mobile infrastructure, for the use with video conferencing software, are available. For large events with numerous participants in attendance, such as lectures, speeches, readings, a lecture hall equipped with Opencast technology and appropriate capacity should be booked. For smaller groups as part of work meetings, seminars, or similar settings with extensive individual participation, a smaller room and the use of the built-in and/or mobile infrastructure is most suitable.
If you are planning to record an event, please contact the lecture recording team well in advance. Below you can see the technical infrastructure available for events, lectures and seminars:
The devices within the category mobile infrastructure can be borrowed by university members with employee status directly from KIM Library and IT Support in the library's information centre, but we recommend making a reservation in the ILIAS course created for this purpose.
Here you can find instructions for using the Meeting Owl in addition to the printable quick start guide above.
