Uninstall Sophos from Windows

1.Click on Start - Settings/Einstellungen


2. Select the option "Apps"


3. Scroll down to the list of installed apps. You may find up to four Sophos installations.


4. Click on "Uninstall" and follow the deinstallation process to remove Sophos

5. Microsoft Windows Defender will automatically activate and protect your computer during the deinstallation.

Windows defender is a free antivirus program which provides sufficient protection for your device.

6. Check your antivirus protection with Windows Defender by clicking on "Start - Settings - Update and Security"


7. Select "Windows Security" and check the status of the security tasks.

They should be as follows:


Your device is now protected.

Please note: Windows Defender will suggest action needs to be taken under "Virus & threat protection". This is due to "ransomware protection" NOT being activated automatically. It is also not a requirement for sufficient protection. Ransomware protection requires One-Drive to be set up as cloud storage which can only be done with a Microsoft account. If you have a Microsoft account, you have the option to set it up. It is however, not necessary to do so.
