Using eduroam on your Android device

These instructions are for devices using Android version 4.3 and up.

‘Eduroam’ cannot be securely installed on devices using Android version 4.2.2 and older. There is a risk that your data will be intercepted and we strongly advise you not to install eduroam on these devices.

For Android version 10 upwards please use the app 'geteduroam' from the playstore, start the app and follow the instructions. (Select: „Universität Konstanz“, user-group: „Uni Konstanz“. Please use as 'User Name' your full University email address, e.g. firstname.lastname@uni-konstanz.de!)

For Android vers. 4.3 to 10:

  1. You will need internet access to set up your eduroam connection. If you don’t have access to mobile data and are on campus you can use the WiFi-hotspot “kim-support” at the help desk in the library.

  2. Download and install the eduroam-CAT app from the Google Play Store. (If you have problems with the installation, try with "geteduroam" app from the Google Play Store.)

  3. Open the app and select "Manual search".

  4. In the search box, type Konstanz and then click “search”.

  5. Select Universität Konstanz from the results.

  6. Click on install and confirm that you want to install the profile.

  7. You will now be asked for your username and password. Please enter your full University email address:

    firstname.lastname@uni-konstanz.de

  8. Enter your university password.

  9. Eduroam is now set up. You can select it from the "available networks” list on your device.
