Peer-to-peer strategy consulting for university management as a tool for establishing a prac-tised Open Access culture at universities of applied sciences

An effective enabling and recognition culture for Open Access depends on strategic frameworks and organisational structural adjustments. It requires action at university management level. The aim of the project is to pilot a peer-to-peer strategy counselling concept for management in university of applied sciences as a tool for establishing a practised Open Access culture at universities of applied sciences. The focus is on identifying the university's own development needs in the areas of strategy, structure, organisation and processes and increasing awareness at management level for measures that promote Open Access. The project will make a tool available with which universities and scientific institutions can support the change towards more Open Access at their institution. Based on the P2P consultation on digitalisation in studies and teaching of the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung, university management of universities of applied sciences are accompanied and advised by members of the management of other universities or scientific institutions in the role of "critical friends" at eye level in a structured process in the identification, conception and implementation of their own development goals and paths.
