EIKON incl. Datastream
a database from LSEG (formerly Refinitiv). Access via a PC in the computer pool at B4.
The provider LSEG (formerly Refinitiv) has integrated the Datastream database on the EIKON platform. The database contains its own web interface and the EIKON Microsoft Excel add-in including Datastream.
You can use this database to analyze a wide variety of data in near real-time:
Macroeconomic time series
Time series from over 170 countries can be viewed using the integrated Datastream data set.
For example: population, labor market, exchange rates, macroeconomic indicators
Company-specific data
You can find a lot of information and data on Eikon:
- Banks worldwide
- Mergers & Acquisitions
- Ownership structures and top investors
- Shareholder Reports
- Number of employees of individual companies, ratios, e.g. sales per employee
- ESG data
- Management and direction
- Annual and business reports
- Fundamentals of European and American companies
- Shareholder History Reports

Financial market-specific data
You can find a lot of information and data on Eikon:
- Share prices, market capitalization, dividends, bonds for global capital markets
- Over 100,000 mutual funds
- Over 200,000 indices, such as stock indices (MSCI, FTSE, etc.), bond indices (JPMorgan, Citigroup, etc.), government bond indices
- Options and Futures
- Private equity Ratings for listed companies
- Development of raw material exchange rates and commodities (e.g. precious metals, agriculture, chemicals)
Access to database
The database is only available from one computer in the university library. It is located in the computer pool on B4 behind the library information service (KIM Beratung).

Data Download: Available Data Volumes for Specific Timeframe Queries
- Ticks : 60,000 data points or 90 day.
- 1/5/10 minute summary : 150,000 data points within 90 days.
- 30/60 minute summary : 150,000 data points within 1 year (3 months for default data mode in Eikon
- Chart)
- Daily : Unlimited data
- Weekly : Unlimited data
- Monthly : Unlimited data
- Quarterly/Yearly : 100 years
