The KIM

The Communication, Information, Media Centre (KIM) is the university's central service provider for IT and library services. KIM was created by combining the library, IT Service Centre and administrative IT. It supports teaching, research and study at the University of Konstanz.

KIM manages all the library services at the university. The library is open 24/7 and provides amply space for learning. It holds approximately two million printed media items as well as many millions of electronic full-text items. KIM provides information and support regarding your search for information and literature through its KIM Library and IT Support as well as the subject specialists. KIM also operates the university’s ILIAS eLearning platform and KOPS repository. Feel free to contact us with all your questions regarding open access publications, bibliometric analysis or digitisation.

The IT services provide the central university IT infrastructure (such as networks, virtualised servers, media equipment) as well as basic services, e.g. university mail, disk space on the file server, or high performance computing. Campus management, with its functions in organising both university courses and examinations, is one of the central IT services. Our IT support assists university members with IT-related questions and the procurement of hardware and software.
