Working at KIM as a student assistant

As a large central institution within the university, KIM needs and employs many student assistants. We offer student jobs in a wide variety of departments and fields of work and thus the opportunity to support the supply of information and literature at the university in many different ways. Fields of work for student assistants

Lending service / Book area service

You support us in lending and returning media, taking into account various lending modalities. Putting books back and tidying up in the book areas and at the study stations are also part of your duties.

IT support

You work at our information desk and are the contact person for all IT questions. You distribute new passwords, set up the W-LAN, improve the settings of slow computers and can delve into complex problems with notebooks and mobile devices. You will be supported by an experienced team and you will also work in the departments to get the computer up and running again on site.

Document delivery

You will support us in processing orders for our electronic document delivery services KonDoc, Subito and Interlibrary Loan. Your tasks include scanning articles and processing the scans in our web-based document delivery and management system.

Subject specialists

You support our subject specialists in maintaining the literature stock, process literature requests and newly acquired media.

Lecture recording

You help us with the recording of lectures. In the lecture halls and seminar rooms, you are responsible for the technology, set up cameras and support lecturers with problems with the system. After the recording follows the editing and processing, you are actively involved in the whole process until the publication on the website.

Open Science

In the Team Open Science, you support us in various projects related to open access and research data management. You will help us with research, prepare content, take minutes of meetings and be actively involved in many project tasks. The focus of these diverse tasks depends on your interests and strengths.

E-Learning

Are you interested in the variety of modern e-learning tools and do you enjoy counselling sessions? Then you've come to the right place! Here you will find a very varied field of activity in which you can support our support team, for example, with the creation of video tutorials, the preparation and provision of MobileClassrooms and your assistance in advising teachers.
