The University of Konstanz’s Philosophical Archive is a specialist archive, or rather a collection of bequests, on the history of twentieth-century philosophy and theory of science. Its task is to safeguard, catalogue, edit and publish relevant bequests and to provide researchers with access to these materials.
The University of Konstanz’s Philosophical Archive works closely with the Archives for Scientific Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh (USA). A partnership agreement to that effect between the Universities of Konstanz and Pittsburgh has been in effect since 1990. Through this partnership, microfilm copies of the estates of Rudolf Carnap, Hans Reichenbach and others can be accessed at the University of Konstanz, which is also responsible for processing requests for access to these materials from all over Europe.
