The Frank P. Ramsey collection

Frank Plumpton Ramsey was born in Cambridge on 22 February 1903. After studying mathematics in Cambridge (graduated in 1923) and a short sojourn in Vienna, he was made a Fellow of King’s College Cambridge in 1924. He died on 19 January 1930 in Cambridge.

When Frank Ramsey died at the age of 26, he had already been acknowledged by important thinkers like Bertrand Russell, Ludwig Wittgenstein and Maynard Keynes. He modified Russell’s and Whitehead’s Principia Mathematica and developed numerous important innovations in the area of mathematical logic.
