Publication Fund

The publication charges for "genuine" open access journals can be covered by the university up to a maximum of 2,000 €. This varies for each publisher.

1. Who is eligible?

  • Members of the University of Konstanz who are the "submitting" or "corresponding author" for the publication.

2. What is eligible?

  • Articles in "genuine" open access journals with peer review (All contributions are available to users online in full and free of charge as soon as they are published).
  • The journals must appear in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

3. How to apply for funding

  • We have agreements with many publishers which automatically cover the costs when the "submitting" or "corresponding author" is a member of the University of Konstanz. Please check in the list below for your publisher's regulations.
  • If the invoice is not automatically covered, there are two options depending on the amount of the invoice:
    • For invoices up to a maximum of 2,000 € (incl. VAT) per article, please send us the invoice (which should have an invoice address of your postal address at the University of Konstanz) per mail or internal post. We will cover the full cost of the invoice.
    • For invoices over 2,000 € please let us know which budget title ("Haushaltstitel") we may debit with the additional costs. We also need a copy of the invoice for further processing.

If you are planning an open access publication, we will happily advise you on which options we can fund.
