Important information for Citavi-Web users

Access to Citavi-Web has been disabled as of April 30, 2023. If you have been using Citavi-Web exclusively via a browser, you would need to switch to another reference management program or Citavi Desktop.

If you are a Windows user you can use the desktop version of Citavi in the future. You can continue to work in your projects with the Citavi desktop version as usual.
Since Citavi Desktop / Citavi Cloud only runs on Windows, this means that all non-Windows users will have to switch to a different literature management program. We recommend switching to Zotero.

If you (can) use Parallels on your Mac, here is a guide to the installation of Citavi.

The license for Citavi Desktop will remain valid until March 31, 2024.

Background:
Despite intensive efforts, the Baden-Württemberg consortium, which negotiates with the Citavi vendor on behalf of the state's universities, has not been able to reach an agreement with regard to Citavi-Web. Unfortunately, the negotiations failed after two years.
We are aware of how much this short-term development affects your scientific work and would have wished for a different outcome of the negotiations. Unfortunately, however, there was no apparent willingness on the part of the vendor to resolve problems and open issues.
